- Give it after the birth. Slightly less exciting at the shower, considerably more useful. Most parents would rather have the real thing in month two.
- Cut everything except the text and gift the assembled frame plus the file. They add the details when they have them. Works well if they own a machine.
- Make a name-only piece if the name is already decided and public. Skip the stats entirely - a name in layered paper stands on its own.
