Licensing & Commercial Use
Welcome to Vektor Kraft LLC! We are absolutely thrilled to be a part of your creative journey. Our goal is to provide you with stunning, high-quality digital designs (SVG, DXF, PDF) that empower you to craft beautiful physical items for yourself, your loved ones, or your small business.
We believe in keeping things simple and crafter-friendly. When you purchase a design from our store, a Commercial License is automatically included in the price. However, to protect our artists and our intellectual property, there are specific rules regarding how our files can and cannot be used. Please read this guide carefully to understand your rights.
The Golden Rule: 1 Purchase = 1 User License
Our licensing operates on a single-user basis. This means that when you buy a file, the license is granted exclusively to you (the individual purchaser). It is non-transferable and applies only to the person who made the transaction.
✅ WHAT YOU CAN DO (Permitted Uses)
We want to see your small business thrive! Under our included commercial license, you are warmly invited to do the following:
- ✅ Create Physical Handmade Products: You may use our digital files in conjunction with your cutting machines (Cricut, Silhouette, etc.) to cut paper, wood, acrylic, or other materials to create physical end-products.
- ✅ Sell Your Finished Physical Items: You are fully authorized to sell the physical, assembled items you create (such as finished 3D shadow boxes, light boxes, lanterns, pop-up cards, and kirigami art).
- ✅ Sell on Any Platform: You can sell your finished physical goods anywhere you like! This includes online marketplaces like Etsy and Amazon Handmade, your own personal website, local craft fairs, farmers' markets, and boutique shops.
- ✅ Unlimited Production Run: Unlike some other stores, we do not cap your success. There is no limit to the number of physical items you can produce and sell using a single purchased design.
- ✅ Modify for Personal/Physical Use: You may resize the designs, change the colors, add custom text (like a family name), or adapt the file as needed to suit the specific physical product you are making.
- ✅ Educational Purposes: You may use our designs as teaching aids in in-person crafting workshops, classes, or tutorials, provided that the digital files themselves are not distributed to the students.
❌ WHAT YOU CANNOT DO (Strictly Prohibited)
Because our designs represent hours of hard work by our digital artists, the following actions are strictly prohibited and violate our copyright and intellectual property rights:
- ❌ Resell, Share, or Redistribute Digital Files: You may not share the digital files via email, USB, social media crafting groups, Google Drive, or any other method. The files are for your use only.
- ❌ Sell as a Digital Product: You cannot upload our files (in original or modified form) to any platform (Etsy, Creative Fabrica, Design Bundles, etc.) and sell them as a digital download.
- ❌ Claim Ownership of the Design: You may not claim our original artwork, digital templates, or modified versions of our templates as your own intellectual property or original design.
- ❌ Use for Print-on-Demand (POD): You are strictly prohibited from uploading our digital designs to third-party Print-on-Demand services (such as Printful, Printify, Redbubble, Zazzle, Amazon Merch) to have them manufacture products on your behalf.
- ❌ Sub-license the Files: You cannot rent, lease, or sub-license our digital files to any other person or business entity.
Clarification for Crafting Teams and Businesses
As mentioned in our Golden Rule, our license covers one individual user.
If you operate a crafting business that employs multiple people to operate cutting machines and assemble products, each individual person interacting with the digital files must have their own license. For example, if you have three employees downloading and cutting the files, you must purchase the design three times. If you require a larger corporate or multi-user license, please reach out to us directly for custom arrangements.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
1. Do I need to buy a separate commercial license to sell on Etsy?
No! The commercial license for small businesses is already included in the purchase price of every file on our website. As long as you are selling the physical, assembled product, you are good to go.
2. Can I take a small part of your design to create my own digital file to sell?
No. You cannot use elements of our designs to create derivative digital works for sale. All digital modifications are for your own physical crafting use only.
3. Do I have to give credit to Vektor Kraft LLC when I sell my physical items?
While we absolutely love it when you tag us or mention that the design is from Vektor Kraft, it is completely optional. You are not legally required to provide attribution when selling your physical handmade goods.
4. Can I send the file to a local print or laser-cutting shop to cut the pieces for me?
No. Sending the file to a third-party manufacturer or cutting service is considered file sharing and distributing. You must cut and manufacture the items yourself in-house using your own equipment.
